Situated in the southern foot of the Daisetsuzan mountains, Country Home Fukei in Shikaoi Town is a dairy farm that produces their own dairy products and also operates a farm cafe. In this tour, you can take a walk around the vast farm site to learn about their dairy farming operations, and experience the work they do in their cattle barns. You will also go on a snowshoe trek across their snow-covered pastures to enjoy the breathtaking winter scenery. You will then finish up with a delicious meal at the farm’s cafe.

You will first go on a guided tour of the dairy farm, visiting their cattle barns and milking parlor. You can learn all about the work they do, including the state-of-the-art technology they use. You can also help out with one of the important daily tasks in the cattle barn: pushing the feed to make sure that the cows can reach them.

Afterwards, you will put on your snowshoes to go on a trek across the farm’s snow-covered pastures. Part of the pastures are located within the Tokachi Shikaoi Geopark, and you can get to see hummocky hills that were formed a mountain that collapsed due to volcanic activity. You can also enjoy a coffee break while admiring the marvelous scenery surrounding you.

After the snowshoe trek, you will visit the farm’s cafe to have some lunch (choose from the hamburger or cheese hamburg curry). For dessert, you can enjoy their delicious soft serve ice cream that is popular with both locals and tourists alike. If you wish, you can also buy the farm’s original dairy products such as yogurt and cheese.
