This guided cycling tour takes you around the village of Sarabetsu, known for its wide open roads and vast farm fields surrounded by windbreak trees. Experience the village with all your senses as you ride along scenic pastoral views that change with the seasons.

 

The tour starts at Activity Centre ANDOOR in central Sarabetsu Village. The local cycling guide will explain today’s route, as well as some safety measures when cycling. After choosing your bike, the guide will also make any necessary adjustments.

After setting off on the cycling tour, you will pass by vast farm fields that form a patchwork of colors, gradually changing as the seasons progress. Depending on the time of the year, you can see fields of wheat, potatoes, sugar beets, beans, and other vegetables in various stages of growth. The guide will tell you all about the crops that make Sarabetsu a prominent agricultural village.

You can stop by some photogenic spots to take a breather and capture some photos. One of the beautiful sights you can see in summer are the potato fields blooming with white or purple flowers under the blue sky.

The roads are wide and mostly flat, with little vehicular traffic, making your ride fairly safe and smooth. Even if you come to an uphill road, the motor of your electrically-assisted bicycle will make the pedaling easy for you. The cycling tour finishes where it started at Activity Centre ANDOOR. The guide can also give you some local recommendations for lunch, in case all the pedaling has made you hungry.
