Memuro Town in western Tokachi is home to Namara Tokachiya, a company comprised of 19 different farms. Besides producing and selling their own vegetables, they also hold various events and programs. In this tour, you will visit Namara Tokachiya to enjoy some fun in a snow-covered farm field. Ride a tractor-pulled wagon across the snow, sweat it up in a snow sauna, then enjoy a farm lunch with pizza and other local ingredients. It’s a unique way to experience the Hokkaido winter in a farm.

First off, you will ride on a wagon pulled by a tractor called “Dosanko” (a word used to refer to someone or something born in Hokkaido). The tractor will take you across the vast snow field. If you have the courage, you can even try jumping from the wagon to dive into a fresh patch of powder snow.

After having fun in the snow, you can experience an outdoor sauna. Sauna bathing usually involves working up a sweat in a heated chamber then cooling your body down in a water bath, but for this outdoor sauna, you can cool down by laying yourself on the snow. You can also take a rest in a reclining chair while admiring the surrounding scenery backed by the Hidaka mountain range.

When you get hungry, you can enjoy a lunch that includes grilled skewers and vegetables cooked in a skillet. You can also try your hand at making your own pizza using plenty of local vegetables.
