This tour takes you on a journey into the rich nature and history of Obihiro, the capital city of the Tokachi region of Hokkaido. You will go on a gentle river cruise along the Obihiro River, take a walk in the Obihiro Birthplace Park, then finish up with a refreshing hot spring bath in a local onsen. It’s a tour that lets you learn about the pioneering history of Tokachi while enjoying various relaxing activities.

After arriving in Obihiro and enjoying a lunch box at Yell Center Tokachi, you will proceed to the bank of the Obihiro River that runs through the city. Here you will board an inflatable raft and go on a gentle cruise along the river, paddling your way across the serene winter scenery. If you’re lucky, you may even get to see swans and other wild birds.

After the relaxing river cruise, you will go on a guided walk in the Obihiro Birthplace (Hasshounochi) Park, the site where surveyors from mainland Japan first landed in Obihiro over 200 years ago. The guide will tell you all about the history of the area as you visit various pioneer landmarks and experience the surrounding nature with all your senses.

The outdoor walk may make you feel cold, so you can finish up with a warm and refreshing hot spring bath at an onsen surrounded by rich greenery.
Note: The onsen you will visit will depend on whether or not you have tattoos.

For transportation between Furano and Tokachi, you will use the North Liner transit bus pictured above (operated by Dohoku Bus). An attendant will be present at the meetup location to guide you.
