Pony Walking and Forest Bathing Cafe
In this tour, you will visit North Pole Stable in the Churui district of Makubetsu Town. You will take a walk into a forest while leading a pony, then enjoy a coffee break while soaking up the sounds and scents of the forest surrounding the stable.
North Pole Stable is home to different kinds of horses, from thoroughbreds to Banba draft horses and ponies. Many of them run freely in the stable’s pastures. The horses are cared for by stable owner Tooru Hirukawa and his wife Chizuko.
You will take a walk into a scenic forest beside while leading a pony with reins. Chizuko-san will accompany you and tell you all about the stable and the horses. From time to time, your pony may stop to chomp on some grass.
While walking along, you will take a coffee break in the middle of the forest. You can relax while enjoying the sensations of the forest, from the scent of the seasonal flowers and plants to the sound of chirping birds.
After the pony walk, you can walk around the stable and interact with the friendly horses. You can also visit a farm silo turned into an art gallery.
